My son, Gianluca, wrote the opening bass line one afternoon at the studio. This was the seed for the piece. I’d asked him to come over and create a ‘bass-only’ kind of piece, something in the style of ‘70s fusion’, which is one of his favorite genres right now. In the end it was a real collaboration between father and son. I ended up writing all around his parts. With Lionel's intense drumming and Karen's wicked violin uni-lines and solos the piece evolved into a frenzy of linear counterpoint!
